Just my luck
Today was the day I was supposed to go in for my second Mammogram and a follow-up ultrasound. After having kids sick with the flu this week it was my turn. I woke up feeling terrible. Thank goodness for a wonderful husband who took the day off to stay home and watch the kids so I could rest. I rested and was feeling enough better that I was able to go to my appointment. They showed me the pictures of the last mammogram and the spot they wanted to look at again, then proceeded with the procedure. After they got me in position and everything smashed down for a good picture, she took a picture and wanted to check it before moving me. As I'm standing there waiting for her all of a sudden the lights go out. They come back on and the tech rushes over to me because lo and behold I was still "compressed". The 1/2 million dollar machine had not let go when the power went off. Thankfully with a little wiggling and pushing I was able to get free of the machine. She said she had seen comics where that sort of thing happened, but in 22 years had never HAD it happen. Can you belive it? There is nothing like getting stuck in a mammogram machine. Not exactly a plesant thing to have happen. Then to top it all off, the computer didn't come back up, so I have to go back next week to do it all again. She did say the one picture looked good, and there shouldn't be anything I need to worry about, but they still want to make sure. That's just my luck.
