It is so wonderful to have friends and to be able to spend time with them. Last week I had a visit from an old High School friend. We have kept in contact throughout the years, and she has recently moved from Washington to Tucson. Yeah for me to have her closer. She was in town for work and came by to visit. It was wonderful to just sit and visit and catch up on each others lives. The next day I was able to go out to lunch with another friend, one who has a son serving a mission. So, we were able to sit around and brag about our missionaries and share ideas and stories. It was a fun break. Sometimes I get to caught up in life and trying to get everything done, and don't take the time needed to keep those friendships going. So, it's nice to have a reminder that friends are an important part of my life.
I had to take two of my children to the doctor today. One - my football star - who injured his knee at the first football game of the season and has been in a brace for the last week - missing two of the games. He was so excited today to get the brace off and be told he could play football again. I thought he was going to start dancing right there in the doctors office. Then my little Min - she has such a high pain tolerance that she gets ear infections and we don't know it. In fact I found out last spring when I took her in thinking maybe she had a sinus infection or something. Now I have to really watch her, her only symptom is getting really cranky and emotional (more than usual). I worry that she has had problems all along and I've just not known. So, after a week of her being off the wall with behavior I took her in today, and sure enough fluid on both ears and the start of an infection in one. It makes you feel kind of like a paranoid mother to take your child in and when they ask about the symptoms you say - none really, she's just really cranky. LOL But for her the cranky pill turns out to be antibiotics, brings her right back to my little Min.
