Growth, Death and the Passing of Time

Wow, February already. Time is passing by way to fast. Seems like my day starts and then it's over. And I look at my kids growing and realize how fast time really is going. For Christmas my oldest daughter recieved a gift certificate from her big brother - it was for getting her hair and nails done and then having a photo shoot. He arranged it with some friends of his here. These pictures are some of the pictures she had taken. LaMont is getting his shot gun ready so he can be cleaning it when the boys start coming around in a few years. It's hard to believe that this beautiful young lady is 14 now. She is growing up before our eyes. I'm really not ready for her to turn 16, but it will be here before I know it.
My second to the youngest daughter recieved a gold fish for her 8th birthday. We went and got the gold fish two days ago - her very first pet. Well, we woke up this morning and it's already dead. So, I guess we'll try again, at least it didn't last long enough for her to be attached. The ones that we got in the summer and put in the swimming pool are still alive in the stock tank. They are huge and even with the water frozen over a few times they are hanging on. But this little one didn't like it's new home I quess.
The bad thing about not blogging for awhile is that there is so much to talk about that it's too much. So many things have happened in the last month -The top three -
My new play started. We are doing Bugsy Malone, which is a challenge but lots of fun. This is the hardest play I have done, and I ended up with 65 kids, ages 11 - 14. This is the biggest group I have had for this age, which in itself has been a challenge. Plus there is major choreography so I have had to dust off my dancing shoes and figure this out. We perform in 3 weeks, it's coming fast and I have so much to do still, like figuring out how to make a gun that can shoot silly string, or at least something that looks like a gun that can have the silly string in it. I'll have to get LaMont thinking on that one.
We learned how to geocache, and it has been so much fun. There are so many just around here that we haven't even gone out anywhere yet, just done ones close to home (within 2 miles from our house). The kids love it. We took my neice with us last Sat, and she loved it, too. Thanks Abnanna and Alex's Human for introducing it to us.
I redecorated the kids bathrooms with frogs. It was so fun. I found a cute shower curtain, painted some little statues I found at the ceramic store, and found a cute frog in the garden section. Then I found some cute pictures of frogs brushing their teeth and taking a bath. My final step is a new curtain, but I haven't decided on the color. It's been a fun project.
As time passes I'll take time to stop and smile, and have had time for lunch with a friend, visits on the phone and even a few drop in's from friends. And last night we celebrated the Chinese New year by making egg rolls and having fortune cookies. So, Happy Chinese New Year!!!!

She is getting to be such a beautiful young lady. I'm sure that she is not only beautiful outside, but truly beautiful inside. What a great gift from a special brother.
