The Fair is coming!!
The County Fair - an exciting time in the life of my children is quickly approaching. My children love to enter things in the fair with the hope of winning a ribbon and a little cash prize. So, Mom obliges and here we are frantically baking, drying apples, mounting art work, and getting it all ready to turn in today and tomorrow. Every year when I'm in the middle of it I think "why, did I do this to myself again". But the kids love it. Thank goodness the Food and Art departments is generous with ribbons, so they are pretty much guaranteed something. So, back to the kitchen and another batch of cookies, and don't let those cinnamon rolls burn.

I remember that!! Except I was the kid begging mom to let draw one more art work for the fair. The money I used from the ribbon winnings, were almost always spent on a new baby goat from the fair. Ahhhh the memories.
I think the Graham County Fair is the best ever. I remember once I got a ribbon for a beach bag I made in home ec. Mine was lime green with a plastic lining and the cutout of an orange fabric sea horse bonded to the front - wow, I hadn't thought of that in years. Thanks for bringing back a memory to this old brain.
Ah yes, the county fair. I even got a blue ribbon for my first grade picture of the Nina. Now that was art work. How much fun the fair is.
