God's Hand
It's always amazing to me to watch how things happen in my life and to know that they happened that way because they were meant to be that way. At the time I may get frustrated wondering why things don't happen the way I want them to, why do I have to wait, why do I have to have trials. But in the end to look back and say - "Oh, that's why. This is much better than I had planned". We moved out of our other house a year ago next month. We didn't put it on the market right away because we needed to finish the room we had started to build on before our kids came. Well, needless to say, we didn't have the time, and it didn't get finished. We were worried about trying to sell it without it being finished, so we kept putting it off and paying two house payments as well as the loan we had to take out for the down payment on our new home. A couple of months ago my husbands uncle asked if we would be willing to rent our house to them for a few months until they decided what to do next in their life. They had returned from a mission, and their home sold faster than they thought it would, so they had no home to live in. We decided we would rent it and then put it on the market and sell it as is. Well, our aunt and uncle have been called as temple patrons, decided that they love the ward and the house, and want to buy it. Yeah!! We don't have to paint or finish the room or anything, and we'll get enough to get out of debt and pay for a mission. Definately much better than we could have planned ourselves, for everyone involved.

So many times we have been blessed. We were trying to save enough money to buy a second car, had decided that a Baja bug would be the best, we could use it out in the desert and still drive it back and forth to town. We had exactly $1050 saved and everything we looked at was more than that. We were really getting discouraged. Craig came home one day after church and told me that one of our ward families needed money for their son who was serving a mission, their father had died and they weren't sure how they were going to make ends meet. We discussed our nest egg and knew that they needed the money more than we needed a second car. So we gave them $350 for one month of his mission. Now we knew that we would be waiting an even longer time. Within less than a week Abe told me he had seen exactly what we wanted on his way home from work. We went and drove around until we found this elusive vehicle. The owner wanted $700 for it, he needed to sell as he was moving out of town. It was worth well over 2 times that much, but amazingly it was what we had left. We have never had a problem trusting in the Lord and knowing that he is watching over us since that time.
