1. Favorite quote, verse or song lyric?
Take life one step at a time, it may take longer but you leave deeper footprints. - Jason Whetten
2. If you could meet w/ anyone dear or alive for lunch, who would it be?
I would have to say Grandpa Carter. It's amazing that so many people would like to talk to him again. We would have to have dutch oven chicken and biscuits. And just talk about life. What an amazing man he was, and how blessed we were to know him.
3. Sweetest thing your significant other does for you with or without knowing it?
He calls me in the middle of the day just to see how my day is going and to say he loves me. Also, watches the kids when I need to go to meetings or whatever, even if it's all day on Saturday.
4. Do you wish on stars?
Not really. But as my 10 year old told me "Shoot for the moon, if you fail at least you'll land among the stars".
5. Favorite drink?
Strawberry or Raspberry lemonade. Fresh of course.
6. Favorite meal?
Something I don't have to fix or clean up after.
7. Last person you talked to on the phone?
My good friend Becky, who I talk to at least every other day. Other times it's my little sister.
8. Favorite month?
I don't really have a favorite month. I have things I love about each month and season.
9. Favorite day of the week?
Sunday. Even though it's a busy day with meetings, it's a day when I for sure have all my family together for dinner, with time to just sit and talk.
Ooops! After rereading this I realized it was the favorite day of the year. Christmas day! Although any day with family ranks up there as a favorite.
10. What was your favorite toy as a child?
My stuffed monkey, Zip. I still have him, though my children say he looks scary with most of his fur gone, and one ear and four fingers missing.
11. Who is the friend you have had the longest?
My friend Robbin, who became my friend our Freshman year in high school. We don't see each other living states apart, but still keep in touch with letters and e-mail. And it's always like we've always been together even when we don't talk for months.
12. When was the last time you cried?
Cried? Who has time for the that. Yesterday when my 18 year old had me listen to a song about letters a mother writes to her son at war. Don't know the name of it, but it pulls the heartstrings.
13. What are you afraid of?
The dark, and water. Going under water petrifies me, especially if my feet are not on the bottom.
14. Favorite flower?
Sunflowers growing outside, roses from my husband, and wildflowers everywhere.
15. Hom many states have you lived in?
Just good old Arizona.
16. If you could change one thing in your life what would it be?
I don't know, there are things that have happened that I haven't liked, and decisions that may not have been the best. But they've always worked out. I want to live with no regrets. It's too late to change the past anyway.
17. A favorite memory of a family trip?
All the trips we took as a kid, especially back to Missouri to visit relatives. All the trips with my children. Of course my favorite current memory is our Disneyland trip this summer because the memories are still fresh.
18. A nice thing you did for someone and it backfired.
Can't think of anything.
19. Something you always wanted to do but are afraid to.
Swim. I really would like to learn, but can't seem to get over my fear.
20. Who are your idols?
I have lots of people I look up to, things I like about different people, but not really one idol.
21. Favorite dessert?
Anything chocolate.
22. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A mom and a teacher when I was little, an accountant when I was in High School, or a computer programmer. I did dream of putting together shows for kids on stage, and look where that got me. I guess I've become all I wanted to be, except the computer part. The accountant and teacher fall in place with being a Mom. And actually I substitute taught for a year, and was a piano teacher for 15 years.
23. How many candles were on your last B-day cake and when is your B-day?
What cake? I haven't had a birthday cake in years. I do get breakfast in bed from my family and lots of other fun surprizes, though. So, who needs cake. Of course I'm reaching the point of setting off the smoke alarms with the candles anyway. But my birthday is December 11 and I'll be the big 4 - 0.
24. Do you dye your hair and if so what color/brand do you use?
Yes I dye it, but I have to write down the color to remember each time. To many other things going on in my head. I did change to go back darker to my natural color the last time, though. And my kids said "Wow, your hair is really dark mom." Didn't last in the sun though, turned light again.

I loved Zip even though he had missing fingers he was the coolest monkey ever.
Thanks for playing along. It's been great to read through everyone's questions.
That is too funny about your monkey. I personally have neve rmet Zip, but i am sure he is quite a friendly monkey even with fingers missing.
(they are missing because of how hard he loved you, huh?)
I don't remember those dutch oven foods, but would love to try them. Dutch ovens do make me think of Grandpa, because everyone talks about him when there is one baking bisquits or anything.
