The pie is eaten, the leftovers put away, the kitchen cleaned up, company gone and kids settled down. Time to stop and think about the day. What a wonderful blessing today was. We had around 50 people here in our home today (thank goodness the weather was nice outside), lots of noise (we were told you could hear us down the street), but lots of love. As I watched my kids get so excited to see their cousins I was reminded of days gone by when I was excited that my cousins were coming for a visit. How much fun we had together playing out on the farm, doing crazy, but silly things. Just enjoying each others company. I watched my teenage nephews holding my little girls on their laps and reading books to them, watched my 10 year old with his arm around his little cousin that is two months younger than him. (One that he has had a special conection with since birth). Watched my 52 year old brother-in-law attempt to jump on a pogo stick. Held my little "grand-neice" that will be a year old next month. Watched the traditional horseshoe game. Watched my sister-in-law sneak out and steal a piece of lemon pie from a pie that had been hidden in one of the cars so it could be snuck home. A pie that my oldest son really wanted a piece of, so she snuck out and got it for him. Received and gave all the hugs that go with hello's and goodbye's from family. My heart was full. As crazy as it is, family is so wonderful, and I can't imagine life without them.

Sounds like a beautiful Thanksgiving. You know we would have been there if we were in AZ. Those are the thanksgiving's we are holding out for!
That sounds like so much fun! I wish we could have more outside time at ours!
