Okay, after seeing everyone's paint jobs in their house I think I'm ready to paint a color in my house. I never have put any color on the walls except different shades of white. So, I need som suggestions for my Living Room. What color do you think would look good? The curtains are cranberry, and the furniture is a dark blue. I need help!!

so many colors. I am not sure. if you are afraid to do something to drastic a tan is always nice. I like greens and blues myself though.
My advice to you is that you go to your local Depot and look at what colors are in the family of cranberry and blue, maybe a nice buckskin. Save the greens and reds for a room that has less color. I love your drapes by the way, much better.
I agree, I'd have to go with a brownish shade in that room. It would go with the carpet and not clash with the couch and drapes.. Best thing to do would be to go to the store and pick up a sample can that would only paint half a wall or so. You can usually get them for a couple bucks and if you don't like it, you'll know before the whole room is painted.. Also, don't be afraid to paint different walls different colors. Accent walls work nicely..
I agree with a brownish shade. A nice light tan would be pretty in there! Brown looks great with cranberry.
you could paint the walls a light red (pinkish color) or even a pale blue. Supposedly when you are decorating you pick complementary colors like those opposite on the color wheel, or you can do a room all in the same color (monochromatic) or colors next to eachother on the color wheel. I think because you have cranberry and blue in there already, that sticking with one of those colors would be best. Then again, a nice warm brown works in any room.
