The Final Countdown

I have so many things I've been going to blog about. Seems like so much has happened lately, but I haven't taken the time to write them down. Things like the end of school, the baby hummingbirds on my front porch, the beginning of summer, kids, baby goldfish, my visit with my Grandma, and I'm sure many other things. But instead you get to hear about how today is 4 weeks until my missionary son will be released from his mission. It seems to have gone by fast, yet it sometimes seems forever. It seems like he has missed so much in our lives, and we have missed so much in his, yet when we talk it's as if he just left yesterday. He has grown so much and I have loved watching that, I wouldn't trade this for anything because I know that he has learned stuff that he would never have learned any other way. But I am excited to have him come home and be a part of our every day life at least for awhile until he is off on his next adventure in life. We are going to go and pick him up - yes, all of my children in a suburban all the way to TN. We were alreay going to go back to MO, so we just changed our plans and are heading to TN first. It will be fun to see where he has been for the past two years, and meet some of the people he has met. It will be an adventure. Four weeks from today he will be in our car with us, no more missionary letters, no more weekly e-mails, no more sending packages, but hugs and late nights talks instead - yeah!!!!

Hey! We too are so excited for him to come home!(but I am sure nobody tops the Mom's excitement!) Chandler will love it- hopefully while he is around, he can help fill the void of McKay being gone for awhile. Make the time go by faster! Good luck on your trip- sounds like fun!
