I think I'm lost

Okay, I know I have posted sometime since this last post, but don't remember what it was about and when, so I don't know if it disappeared or if I'm just losing my mind. Possible I'm losing my mind things have been so crazy lately. Between three birthdays in two weeks, a play performing and auditions for the next, tons of childrens homework, Halloween, irrigation water, a sheep that keeps getting out of his pen, a friend moving into a new home, and tons of other things my life hasn't stopped for a second or even slowed down for that matter. I have thought of blogs to write, but haven't had the time to write them. It's got to slow down this next week or I'll go crazy. The last of the birthday's for this month is Sat., with a double birthday party in the afternoon. My play is performing and they are doing an awesome job. It's always amazing to watch them perform. This is the Intermediate play, which is kids 11 - 14. I've got some new ones this time and it's fun to watch them blossom. Even to watch the kids that have been involved for awhile, to watch them improve. To see their faces brighten up when they walk on that stage and perform, to see the confidence and excitement. That's why I do this. They are talking about cutting the program and how sad that makes me. I deal with up to 130 or 150 kids a semester, that's a lot of kids whose lifes are being touched, who are growing in confidence, who are gaining talents they didn't know they had. What an awesome opportunity it is, and it makes me mad to know they are even thinking about cutting. Just because some group of people think that we take up to much time in the colleges theatre and that they want to have more access to using the theatre themselves. I do know there will be a lot of mad parents if they go through with it. We'll see what happens. For now I move forward, with a group of 80, 4 - 10 year olds. That's a lot of Elves in "Surfin' Santa". So much fun!! But more fun after I get the choreography figured out and the songs learned well enough to teach them. So, "I Think I'll Make It Through the Winter", or at least through another day.

I recently heard on the news that a company did a study on a number of their retired employees for 20 years and found that those who retired at 65 lived a lot longer than those who retired at 55. Sometimes we do feel life is busy but it's supposed to be that way - that's what keeps us young and alive. I remember my Grandpa Carter had what I thought was a lovely orchard. After they forced him to retire, he started cutting down trees. It seems that it wasn't too long after he cut down that last tree that he died because there wasn't anything left for him to do - so keep busy and stay happy. love ya.
