First Day of School
Well, here we are the first day of school, the house is quiet as all my bunch are off to the halls of learning. It's a weird feeling. I get so nervous for my children the first day - will they like their teacher, will they make some friends, will they know where they are going for those in a new school??? I'll be a basket case today until they get home and I find out the news of the day. Of course we had to have our share of mishaps this morning - as they went to get out lunchboxes that I hadn't checked but thought they were still good we discovered that only half were still in good condition. As my 7 year old put her pants on we discovered that they were too long - I had been so busy checking waists when they tried them on I didn't realize they were too long, so we had to do some hemming this morning before school. My 6th grader doesn't have a teacher yet - his teacher is coming from the Philippines (I'm not sure why they are hiring teachers from out of the country - maybe because they don't pay enough and no one wants to teach here - who knows) But his teacher isn't here and won't be for a few weeks, so he has a sub. Not a real big deal, but a little disconcerting for him - the classroom doesn't really have much set up in it, and who wants to get all settled in to one way of doing things just to have to change it all in a few weeks. Needless to say, that has made him a little nervous and not too happy. My new Middle School students were nervous about starting Middle School, and I realized this morning that my son didn't really understand the whole middle school concept of changing classes and stuff, so we had to go over his schedule again and show him where it says everything he needs to know today. But we got through the morning and we're off - ready for a new year - and the new adventures that it will hold.

Wow first day of school. Yay for you and a quiet house agian.
We are hiring five teachers for our high school from India. Arizona is apparently doing some type of exchange program with other countries.
Summer was too short this year. We started on Monday. I have been playing bus driver for a few days as I didn't get time to arrange drivers for our students who travel to Casa Grande. It just snuck up on me....
