This afternoon we had a surprise visitor - an investigator from the Cochise County Public Defender's office, the office of the Attorney that is supposed to be on Gilbert's side, but who wants him placed back with the other foster family. The man was very nice and all, but asked tons of questions about my kids, about Gilbert, about the situation of him being here, about the situation of my other kids coming here, about my kids friends, school, and church. I definitely felt like I was under investigation, and because of the office that he represented I was very nervous about what I was saying, hoping that I wouldn't say anything that may be used against us. He seemed very impressed and said that we seemed like a good family and a good home for Gilbert. The kids were all very well behaved, no fighting or anything - which is a very big plus around here. I don't know what they were looking for, whether they were looking for something against us or not, but it was really a very scary thing. I didn't realize how much it stressed me until he left and I was very shaky and ended up with a terrible headache. We were also presented with a subpoena, we have to appear at the court in two weeks and testify. We were planning on being there anyway, this just makes it a little more nerve wracking wondering what exactly they will question us about. I will be so glad when these two weeks are over and this step is over I'm not sure how much more of this I can handle.
On the positive side here are some pictures of our adventures in the last little while.
